DIY Peel Off Base Coat – Perfect For Glitter!!!

Love glitter polish but hate glitter polish removal? I do! So when I saw Essence was making a peel off base coat I thought it would be perfect for glitter nail polish. Too bad it was impossible to find in the US. Luckily I did some googling to figure out if I could make this myself and came across posts by Lab Muffin and Pretty Purple Polish. Some smart people read the bottle and figured out the main ingredient is PVA..that’s white glue!

I tried this method out and it works fabulously! No need to worry about it being delicate. I spent a day gardening, scrubbing my shower, taking a shower, and various hard-on-my nails stuff and the only result was normal tip wear. Try it out and pass it along!

UPDATE: There has been some concern whether PVA is safe to use on your nails. I researched this and PVA (aka polyvinyl acetate) is already used in eye makeup and mascara and is considered safe according to Cosmetics Ingredients Review, an independent safety review program.
